Fuck Gas

So despite temperatures in the low teens people still thought it would be a good idea to come out, ride their bikes, drink coffee and beer, eat cookies and watch a bike video. As you can tell from the photo of Leland’s frozen face we actually proved that we do indeed not give a shit how cold it is.

Thanks to everyone that braved the cold and especially thanks to Aaron for grabbing the coffee and Suzanne for the cookies. The route took us through Crescent Hill, down Zorn Avenue and back up River Road which probably wasn’t the safest road to ride on at midnight - it’s a bit dark.

Derek, David, Gary and Suzanne took an alternate route down Brownsboro Road where they had the opportunity to get stopped by Louisville’s (not so) finest. During the traffic stop the boy in blue (I think they wear black now) informed them that there was a law in Louisville stating they had to have lights to ride at night, which I’m pretty sure is not the case. Because of this, he informed them that even though he knew it was illegal that they needed to ride on the sidewalk… WTF? I wish I would have been there for that one.

Unicycle polo you say? Yes indeed. That’s Ben (I think - I’m horrid with names) strutting the unicycle and playing polo with all us two wheelers and holding his own to say the least. Actually I think he even has an advantage. Another day of great polo and a great group all having a kick ass time. Can’t wait til next week and looks like we’ve secured coffee supplies for Friday’s Penguin Waddle. Weather persons are forecasting teens for the highs that day so bundle your shit up! Don’t miss it!

Winter sucks - cold ass temperatures, grey skies and short days don’t exactly scream bike ride but what the hell do we care - we ride at night anyway and we own gloves and balaclavas! Come warm yourself up at On Your Left Cycles January 16th at 8pm for the Fuck Gas “We Don’t Give a Shit How Cold it is… Penguin Waddle.” We know you don’t want to be out there freezing your ass off for too long so seeing that January is the coldest month of the year on average here in Louisville, we’re making this one short.

Join us for an 8 mile loop starting and ending at On Your Left Cycles at 618 Baxter Avenue. You’ll also be able to enjoy some free hot coffee or even a cold beer - don’t be scared to bring your own though as the beer won’t last long. Finally, we’ll end the night with more freebies - a showing of the Mash SF video.
