Liberty Tattoo & Art Parlor is seeking out photographers for their next show coming up at the end of this month. Contact Suzanne at 502-637-4777 for more information. Submission deadline will be August 28. Get on it!

Sarah and Krista want your video and/or audio… The Gutter Bunny Project is dedicated to bringing together themes of video and audio for a unique cycling experience with global participation. The global participation comes in through video submissions from the perspective of the cyclist riding through urban landscapes throughout the world. They say there are several exhibitions planned this summer in galleries across the US and they plan to expand the tour. It’s hoped to get this completed by the end of next month so get moving kids and submit your stuff.

Locally Gary and Suzanne are at it again over at Liberty showing local artist Robby Davis’ Far Far Away. In his first solo show, the artist invites you into his imperfect world of characters, creatures and doom. Opening reception happens Saturday, July 10 from 7pm to 10pm. The exhibition will run through August 28, 2010.

Ah, what a good one for the 600th post here at Fuck Gas. So due to some beuracratic rail roading bullshit I’m sitting on day 4 of a 2 week home incarceration headache. Could be worse I know, but it’s still a pain in the ass. Recently found out that not only did the judge apologize to my lawyer for finding me guilty and admit she was wrong, but the arresting douche bag cop even mentioned how lucky the prosecution was to get the guilty verdict out of the judge. Fuck your government and all that follow and assist in it’s daily workings. As well, not that I believe in karma, but if there is such a thing, those bitches down at H.I.P. (Home Incarceration Program) are gonna be fucked when it comes around for them, regardless of who they’re praying to.

Now, enough with the doom and gloom. It’s Liberty Tattoo & Art Parlor’s 1st Birthday!

To celebrate, Gary and Suzanne will be having Group Art Show #3 Friday, May 21 beginning at 7pm. Artists include: Devin French / Chris Chappell (Glass Art), Julie Yoder (Assemblage), Damon Thompson (paint), Tiffany Embry (embroidery), Jillian Geralds (Handmade Fiber Jewelry), Judson Baker (Painting), Suzanne Edds (clay & painting) and Gary Bell (painting). Be sure to stop in for art give aways, food and all the other festivities.

Now what? You want something bike related? I’m allowed to ride my bike to and from work at the moment… that’s all I’ve got.

Liberty Tattoo & Art Parlor’s Suzanne Edds has a showing opening at the Makery (1572 Bardstown Road) tonight. “Birds and Bunnies” will have both ceramic sculptures and paintings on display. Opening reception runs from 7-10pm tonight. If you can’t make it out to the ride go there before heading to the Swan Dive for their 1 year anniversary party.

It’s Friday, beautiful and sunny at the moment but should turn to shit starting tomorrow… bike!bike! Southeast is this weekend with a kick off ride tonight leaving at 8pm from the First Unitarian Church or something to that effect. It’s at 809 S.4th St. and the ride will end at 1113 Logan St. Once there, the dance party goes into action with Mirage Montage, Bu Hao Ting, and DJ Kaboom. Sounds quite interesting. Add to that, a weekend full of workshops and things will hopefully make bike!bike! Southeast 2010 a success.

Tomorrow starts off with me having my head shaved for St. Baldrick’s (still time to donate!) and then directly after will be the opening party of the Bike Art Show at Liberty Tattoo and Art Parlor. Given the rain holds off, we’ll be riding from On Your Left Cycles (618 Baxter Avenue) at 7:30 and heading straight to Liberty (2801 S. 3rd Street) for the party.

Sunday is more bike!bike! action, but I’ve got soccer to play, so have fun and stay safe out there.

Gary and Suzanne have rocketed into the 20th and they don’t give 2 fucks whether it’s the 21st or not. Liberty Tattoo & Art Parlor have a real, live website up and running. It’s still in the construction phase be patient. You can stay up to date with what’s happening over at LibertyTattooAndArt.com. Hopefully I’ll have the galleries up and running tonight and the interactive calender shortly after. I was quickly reminded today of how quickly all the MySQL, PHP, CSS, Java and what-have-you’s exit your brain when not used on a regular basis.

Now, in the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day, Gary will be doing $17 tattoos from a select St. Patrick’s flash sheet from 12-5pm March, 17.

Liberty Tattoo & Art Parlor (2801 S 3rd Street) are hosting a bicycle related art exhibit so we’re riding to it from the usual host, On Your Left Cycles (618 Baxter Avenue).

Additionally, I’ll be having my head shaved at St. Baldrick’s (please help some kids out and donate here) earlier that day so come and check out my scarred up knoggin…

This all happens this Saturday, March 20 and we’ll be meeting at On Your Left about 7pm and leaving shortly after. Check out the Facebook event page here.

Hope to see everyone there!

it’s the weekend, get fucked…

or go race this tomorrow

or… if you’re so inclined, there’s a sort of ridability gathering down in the radness of Portland at 3pm taking off from Kroger at 27th and Broadway. The nature of said ride is to determine what would make the west end more ridable… get it? “Rideability,” anywho, that’s it. I’m hungry.

Oh yeah, Mag Bar has t-shirts designed printed and delivered (not sure about that last part) by the one and only ambiguously awesome duo of Suzanne Edds and Gary Bell at Liberty Tattoo and Art Parlor - go get one! I’m wearing one right now and it totally works!

So I suppose it turns out I’ve more to say that expected. Too bad. LSD is awesome kids, don’t listen to the naysayers.

We’ve got beer, bikes and a grill - what else could you need for a hearty Saturday night? How about prizes from Nutcase Helmets, Shitluck Clothing, Urban Velo, Liberty Tattoo & Art Parlor, Spokepunchers and possibly FBM Bikes if that box from John Paul shows up today…

As far as that grill goes, don’t be scared to bring a sort of side dish or some chips. Suzanne plans on bringing her lintel burgers (which fucking rule!), 40’s of High Life will be available as well so contribute to the cause you free loaders!

Just 3 days away from the beginning of my recently lusted after (by myself) cyclocross career and I’m ready to both pee my pants and have my ass handed to me. While I can unfortunately only attend Sunday’s festivities, I am stoked to be doing so none the less. Looking at the pre-registered rider list it appears I will be starting about midfield (approx 20th) so far, as bib #115. If you’re there, look for me and yell at me to stop being such a pussy and pedal harder. Afterwards, I plan on enjoying a few beers while watching some better riders than I. Hope to see you there!

In other news, the prizes are flowing in for the 2nd Annual 40oz Fun Run. So far we look to be handing out goodies from FBM Bikes, Spokepunchers, Shitluck Clothing and Liberty Tattoo & Art Parlor.
