United has released their first full length team video so come on out and watch Louisville resident Ryan Metro play around on the BMX. This goes down about 10pm this Saturday, August 7 at the Monkey Wrench (1025 Barret Ave) with $2 PBR Tall Boys til midnight. Keep in mind this one is 21 and over. As well, footage from this years Forecastle Fest pallet ramp extravaganza will be shown before the United video. Check the trailer below.

I’ve really got nothing… get this party started.

The Shitluck site is currently undergoing a complete makeover as well as the brand in general. Leland has decided to go after the motorcycle and billiards markets basicly in order to encompass everything else he’s into doing these days. Next up I would expect him to go after the home improvement market and start sponsoring weekend gardeners and landscape architects. Eitherway check out the new site and you can also buy a handful of shirts directly from the Shitluck store page or if what you’re looking for isn’t there try the BMX distribution site Sidewall, this is Mat Hoffman’s distro and they’ve got a lot of good crap over there too. Enjoy.

What a fucking weekend. Plenty of time spent on the bike so that’s always a plus, but got reminded of a lesson I learned a long time ago. Don’t ride the trails alone, even more so try things like transferring from one line to another when you’ve never tried it before. These are things to be done in the company of others cause when you eat shit and you’re back in the woods by yourself, it can be a bad situation. That’s why Mat Hoffman puts his cell phone on the flat bottom when he’s riding vert by himself. Still, not a good idea. My shoulder and hip are killing me.

Picking myself up out of the dirt, and not metaphorically, I decided it was time to go. After all, I had an hour to get home, showered and pick up a lady to take to my ex-wife’s wedding reception. Not awkward at all, why do you ask? Well, because it is somewhat awkward. Regardless of how good of friends my ex and I are, it’s not everyday this sort of situation presents itself. It did provide for some amusing conversations with her now husband’s family, of which is creepily similar to mine. Strange days indeed. All in all it was a good time (free beer!), and I got to spend about 7 awesome minutes with my date. Hopefully more of that in the future.

Now for some real bicycle news: If you’re in Louisville and interested in contributing some ideas or time to a Louisville Bike Fair you may want to try and get to the Brick House tonight at 7pm to discuss. No date yet as far as I remember, August maybe? At any rate, there’s a good group of people trying to do good things, so go if you can.

The most skull and crossbones loving englishman I know, Fids, is in the running for the last spot on the Oakley National Trails Champs over in the U.K. If you would be so kind head on over to the Ride UK site and give him a vote.

Craig Mast stepping it up a notch. One of these kids is gonna get killed. At least he’s wearing a helmet I guess. Listen to me… I can really tell I’m getting fucking old. Crazy kids these days.

This is just absurd. Harry Main from MirraCo, bunny hop flair into a quarter.

There’s the proof (thanks Lyttle) that I’ve been riding more BMX than anything else as of late. It’s trail season and I’m taking full advantage. In doing so, I haven’t exactly been keeping up with transportation and cycling news like I normally would. In all honesty, I really don’t care. You only live once so have fun while you can. I’m not getting any younger so I’m going to hurl myself through the air for as long as I can. Some may say it’s kids bikes and immature, so be it.

Friday will be the Swan Dive Birthday party and I guess mine too so don’t forget to come out and drink quarter PBR’s with Becca and all sorts of other people you may not know.

This one looks like a doozie. I don’t know what the hell goes through these kids’ minds these days. This is the trailer for the new We the People video coming out this summer. That Shitluck shirt at the end is Chester, and jumping off a building onto a handrail is just stupid, but that’s what it takes I guess. Thanks to Dig for the post.

It’s Friday, sunny and warm. Spring is right around the corner and BMX is on my mind. That’s Garret Byrnes up top.

Our buddy Brent has another group ride coming up, the Spring Fever Ride. It will leave from Heine Brothers at Longest Avenue and Bardstown Road, Friday, March 12 sometime between 7 & 8 pm. Also, another Car Free Happy Hour is happening at Sol Aztecas, 520 S. 4th Street from 5:30 - 8pm on Tuesday, March 16.

Enjoy the weekend.
