I really don’t much of anything going on right now. It’s cold as all hell so there’s not a lot happening around town. Although, I will say, once you get out there, given you’re layered up right and all, it’s not so bad being out riding around. With that said, I’m working on getting another ride together, i may just recycle one of the old ones, or if you have a better idea, shoot it on over. That said, don’t forget about the Memorial Ride this coming Sunday, January 3rd.

Hope to see everyone there.

I’m hung over as all get out right now so pay no attention to the man behind the keyboard. Apparently Leland got a Wii and giant bottle of bourbon for x-mas so we thought it would be a good idea to break them both in all proper like yester evening. Between whoa-is-me text’s to my ex-wife and a couple drunk grown ass men playing video games it’s been one hell of a holiday over in this neck of the woods. Hope yours went well and maybe this shit will be back to what would be considered normal on Monday. If you’ve got a problem with that, too fucking bad. Buy your own website and maybe people will go read your retarded fucking meaningless rambling. Until then, happy holidays and get me a drink!

Oh, as for that video, that’s Rhett & Link. They’re what some would consider funny and good for the ha ha’s. With that in mind, here’s one more…

So with my recent move comes the need for some additional furniture. Having a constant flow of junked bike parts moving through my life I started looking into building some of the furniture I need out of old bike parts. The search for examples and ideas lead me to Burnworks out of Boulder, Colorado who made the above table. While I’m certainly no metal smith or even an amateur welder for that matter I figure I can get away with some designs I’ve got sketched out by doing a bit of drilling and adding in some nuts and bolts. I’ve got a table in the works that is made of rims, spokes and a cassette cog. As soon as i get the thing done I’ll be sure to post some pics. After that I plan on making a full size coffee table which I’ve got a few ideas for as well.

That’s all.

Alright, so I tend to go through spurts of affection for unattainable women, like this, this or this. Most recently of which has been Zooey Deschanel. In reality, this has been an ongoing one for me for quite some time, I just didn’t take the time to watch movie credits or find out her name until fairly recently. Regardless, she’s a cutie pie and yes I just typed that… cutie pie. Seems so much more attractive on my part than hot as fuck. Regardless, she’s a looker and funny as all get out. Just thought I’d let you know.

it’s the weekend, get fucked…

or go race this tomorrow

or… if you’re so inclined, there’s a sort of ridability gathering down in the radness of Portland at 3pm taking off from Kroger at 27th and Broadway. The nature of said ride is to determine what would make the west end more ridable… get it? “Rideability,” anywho, that’s it. I’m hungry.

Oh yeah, Mag Bar has t-shirts designed printed and delivered (not sure about that last part) by the one and only ambiguously awesome duo of Suzanne Edds and Gary Bell at Liberty Tattoo and Art Parlor - go get one! I’m wearing one right now and it totally works!

So I suppose it turns out I’ve more to say that expected. Too bad. LSD is awesome kids, don’t listen to the naysayers.

The other day at the Copenhagen Conference on Climate Change brew-ha-ha, MIT duders unveiled the Copenhagen Wheel. This new wheel uses a system similar to Formula One’s KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System) which according to MIT director Carlo Ratti, “When you brake, your kinetic energy is recuperated by an electric motor and then stored by batteries within the wheel, so that you can have it back to you when you need it. The bike wheel contains all you need so that no sensors or additional electronics need to be added to the frame and an existing bike can be retrofitted with the blink of an eye.”

It’s a strange beast, but interesting none the less. With Copenhagen’s Lord Mayor (what?) Ritt Bjerregaard looking to have 50 percent of the city’s citizens getting to work and school by bike, maybe this will help get them there. I can’t really imagine though being that I would expect the price for this thing to be something also similar to Formula One cars… whatever happened to good ole fashion pedaling? Eitherway, 50 percent is an amazing goal, and i hope they get there. Copenhagen is seriously something to pay attention to.

With the recent closing of the cyclocross course at River Road Country Club (for a fucking dog park!) the city of Louisville dedicated space at Eva Bandman park, also on River Road. While at first I was doing a lot of bitching and moaning in regards to all of this I am now backpedaling and eating my words…

After the Eva Bandman announcement the city also added that they would be investing an initail $50,000. Now, the city has released the above video on the progress at the park and it is looking like this could be one hell of a course. This also got some love over at Cyclocross Magazines blog. Seriously looking forward to watching how this progresses.
