This Sunday’s OVCX Storm the Greens here in Louisville will bring an end to the famed CX course at the old River Road Country Club… thanks to dip shit city planners and a bunch of douche bag dog owners. Don’t get me wrong, I love dogs, it’s just that so many of their keepers are such total retards. As well, there will be a permanent CX course placed at the super flat, super soaked Eva Bandman park. At any rate, Storm the Greens. Registration is open for a couple more days so be sure to get it taken care of and get on this course for one last time before it turns to a full time, fenced off dog park. I’ll be out there cheering and beering, just not racing as with my recent move I’m broke as fuck all.

Get on it people! It’s the big day so get out there and buy some crap… or better yet, get out there and buy some crap from a bike shop. If you’re around Louisville make sure to hit the Mag Bar tonight for a Black Friday Party. Shitluck and Liberty Tattoo & Art Parlor will have stuff for sale as well as plenty of bourbon and beer.

Add to all that, I think my insomnia is back. It hurts.

Not literally, but fuck christianity or whatever other giant squirell in the sky bullshit either way. Your hollidays can suck it.

There’s been some changes on the internets and we’ve had to update some links over there to the right. First up is On Your Left Cycles… they went from OnYourLeftCycles.COM and are now OnYourLeftCycles.NET. This being the result of a certain douche bag sales rep for a certain bike company, which is a job he really shouldn’t have in the first place considering he’d rather take pictures of weddings and things, having originally set up the site and attempted to turn it into an insane money making opportunity in turn fucking over his one time buds… unfortunately this is not the first time such an occurrence has taken place with said sales rep. For real dude, let someone that actaully rides and wants to be in the bike industry take that job…

Secondly is my favorite afterwork relaxation station, The Swan Dive. Apparently Becca has had this website going for sometime and nobody ever new… atleast this nobody anyway. I’m gonna attempt to spruce it up a teency bit if she is so inclined. If you’re in Louisville and have not been to this fine establishment of oh so many a vegan offering and all vegetarian along side an ass kicking selection of beer then you’re a bitch. Get there and check it out.

I’ve got two spots on the guest list for Russian Circles, Phantom Family Halo and Young Widows to give away. The show is 8pm, Friday, December 11  at Skull Alley here in Louisville. Losers will have to pay $10 each to see it, you, the winner, get in for free and even get to walk up and proudly proclaim you’re on the guest list. Now what I want from you…

this is open to anyone within a day’s drive of Louisville. Being that this is a bike blog I want a picture of you with your bike first of all. Add to that you should probably have some sort of something from atleast one of the three bands playing the show in there with you. Maybe the person you’re bringing along if you win, if it’s your girlfriend she should probably have less clothes on than you, who knows, be creative. If you’re from Louisville, I want the picture taken in front of Skull Alley or On Your Left Cycles. Additionally, having that hooker girlfriend of yours hand deliver your entry tucked in a 12 pack of beer may get you bonus points. Kidding, that’s not fair to the out of towners… ah screw em, send her over. If you’re from out of town, I want something in there depicting where you’re from. Most awesome pic wins it and you get featured here on the site as well as who knows where else. Get to work! Email your entry to: jimmy@fuckgas.org

Winner will be announced Friday, December 4.

There’s a good damn reason I don’t smoke weed, and if you saw me Saturday night, you understand why. One pinchy nibble off some wack ass pot brownie turned me into a retard. I couldn’t stand up. So, I missed the entire show and slept in the bus. Good times. I know I’m a fan of the never say never axiom, but I will go out on a limb here and say NEVER again. I don’t know how you people do it. I’m too old for this shit. I still don’t feel right.

Lucero is taking on one venue this evening in the Ville to which I have already dedicated myself.

However…

there is Shellac and the MUTHAFUCKIN web at another spot. Hate to miss that show, but bro’s before hoes nigga.

Thought I posted this but apparently that’s a negative. Brad and Jeff have gotten their 16th issue to press and it’s a beauty. As always, you can download a pdf from their site or if you’re into supporting publications in the bicycle industry, you may want to subscribe to be sure Urban Velo sticks around. Check it all out at UrbanVelo.org

Contents include: Adventures in Tokyo, Persuasion: A Political Primer, Bike Works, Love Letters Written in Horseshit, I Love Riding in the City, Pedals Plus People, Residue, Urban Legend - Mike Shih, Victory of the Bicycle, Masterlink Tech, Diagnose A Stuck Stem, Line Up Your Hot Patch, No Exit.

Got routed to this one via Big Jonny’s twitter. I am seriously at a loss of words on this one. What, it doesn’t come with a cup holder? With all the user pics being uploaded to the Amazon page I can’t imagine it’ll be available for too long… hopefully.

Chrome has a new version of their knickers coming out. Built in U-Lock holster is one of the improvements. Should be available today at www.chromebagsstore.com
